She was friendly without flirting back, unthreatened without any hint of professional cool. They were probably doing it more out of habit than anything else, but they were lifers and their manner had an obvious air of threat. The truck drivers were constantly flirting with her. Even so, she still moved and talked with a kind of style - she had an air about her.

She looked bored - but then it was such a foul day she’d probably spent most of her shift there. When she wasn’t waiting tables, she was sitting by the kitchen door, flipping through a newspaper. She didn’t look or act like anything special, just your average Midwestern girl. If I had it to explain again, I would have tried talking about the waitress there. I thought it was appropriate I found it comforting. I didn’t quite see it then, and Beth certainly would not have approved, but the truth was that I didn’t just like the place. I couldn’t explain it wasn’t an important question for either of us, but I couldn’t. The tacky details were there only to keep it from looking like a cafeteria. She was a connoisseur of kitsch, and by her standards kitsch had to be lurid, grotesque, and uncompromising. I tried to explain - all I could say was that I liked the kitschiness. I said, truthfully, that none of it bothered me there was even a way in which I liked it. The fake wood-grain Formica, the feeble little curtains, the cute place mats, the plastic plants that didn’t even bother to seem real - it was all so tacky, so devoid of locale, so American. She wasn’t being a snob about it she’d been in a lot worse places and would never pretend otherwise. A couple of truck drivers laughed to themselves in the middle of the room, and my friend Beth and I were in a booth in the corner.īeth wasn’t happy with the restaurant.

Not Bishop-and-Torres-forever kind of weird, just that it was instantaneous. Knight and Torres have a very strong chemistry and it’s weird. Which, no, I hope every time one of those evil creatures turn on the A/C Libby appears and freaks the hell out of them. And the moderator scenes were great! She and Torres work really well together, and as much as I thought their work was amazing as they teamed up with Kasie to figure out why the victims were killed and found Libby Alonak.

I think I might even have ended up giving her my keycard.

Knight did well undercover she’s better in a corporate setting than she is pretending to need gas for her car in the woods when they were looking for Gibbs. Looks like the Pentagon paid LeMere by paying invoices to the consultant company, Sonova Industries. Meanwhile, back at the Navy Yard, Team Gibbs is trying to get more information about who paid LeMere.That poor accountant! Someone find her a job at NCIS. Had he not blown himself up, I think he would have been an interesting foil for Parker. No need to blow himself up in front of a witness Gibbs would have just gone off in the woods and never come back.The man playing Lemere is fantastic, making him chilling yet somehow relatable all at once. The big difference between LeMere was that he was a sociopath, while Gibbs isn’t (although sometimes I’ve worried), And Gibbs doesn’t need an audience. While Gibbs is driving down the roads of Upstate NewYork with LeMere and Parker is ordering an Uber, LeMere regails Gibbs story about “his” life, which sounds suspiciously like Gibbs’s life. His hate-on for Gibbs is epic, and I’m guessing it’s because he wants to be as awesome as Gibbs. I’m guessing Parker wouldn’t take it, anyway. Don’t they have a, “So you have to liaise with LJ Gibbs at NCIS” seminar at the FBI? If so, I want Spencer Reid to give it. Parker thinks Gibbs is dangerous, which duh. But Gibbs is clear that he wasn’t taking a kill shot, so I feel better. Turns out LeMere is alive, which surprises me because usually hits his mark.
